Kanonkop ‘Kadette’ Pinotage Rosé 2022/23, Stellenbosch. Wine has been made at Kanonkop since the 1940s, but it wasn’t until 1973 that the iconic label was created. Today, the winery has an international reputation as one of the finest in Stellenbosch. Their production is focused around South African signature grape, Pinotage, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Wines are made from vines in the Perdeberg – the largest single block of Pinotage in the world. Very few estates attempt to make rosé from this robust, full-flavoured grape, but Kanonkop have perfected the art. It’s wonderfully perfumed, with notes of Turkish delight, rose water, summer berries and crisp red apple. Rich and fruity but with plenty of freshness, this will pair brilliantly with sushi..
