Conservation is at the forefront of De Wetshof Estate – they recently bagged a gong in the WWF Conservation Pioneer Awards for protecting the fynbos shrubland that thrives alongside their vines. But this is a winery that’s impactful in more ways than one. De Wetshof became the first registered wine estate in the Robertson and, in 1981, the first South African winery to commercially market Chardonnay. Robertson’s limestone-rich soils and cool nights are perfect for cultivating this popular white variety, as well as red Pinot Noir – both of which feature in this unique bottling.
