Domaine de Cibadiès ‘Le Jardin’ Chardonnay 2021, Pays d’Oc. When Jean-Michel Bonfils acquired Domaine de Cibadiès in the 1960s, he took a punt planting Chardonnay and Pinot Noir – even though both varieties were almost unknown in the Languedoc at the time. The gamble obviously paid off. He now owns 16 estates across the region, plus another in Bordeaux, and was awarded Best Producer in France by Mundus Vini in both 2022 and 2023. This wine has a brilliant straw-yellow hue, it’s aromatically intense and complex, featuring bursts of citrus, peach, dried fruit and vanilla. Watch out, Burgundy..
