Saint Clair ‘Pioneer Block’ Rosé 2023, Marlborough. Judy Ibbotson planted the first two hectares of Saint Clair vines back in 1978. Nearly five decades later her second-generation family winery is an integral part of the Marlborough region, producing a variety of bottlings in association with top-notch growers. This rosé is made from Pinot Noir harvested from estate-owned vineyards in the Southern Valleys sub-region. Grapes are picked in the cool of the night at optimum ripeness and flavour intensity, so little wonder the wine’s bursting with notes of crushed raspberries, strawberries, cherry blossom and cream. Delicious on its own, or try it with fresh fish or summer salads..
